Semi-regular reminder that Global Series cards are considered illegal in every format.

I'm going to keep making these until this gets updated, all cards printed in the Global Series are legal in Legacy, Vintage, and EDH. The site lists them as illegal in every format.

Have you posted in the Official missing/incorrect card thread?

Because just posting the same thing over and over like this isn't the correct response. Plus of all things incorrect with the card, it's just a legality issue.

This issue has actually been posted several times by me and different people in that thread, yet know one has been acknowledged regarding their listing as illegal in every format. I even posted on the site owner's profile a couple weeks after their release and I didn't get a response.

Not sure why we can't get through to anyone to resolve the issue, but I hope it gets fixed soon. I know a lot of people who slammed Avatar of Growth into their decks, but it annoys them and me as well that their decks are still flagged "Not legal in Commander/EDH".

DiverDown: I get that and all but at the end of the day it doesn't affect deckbuilding, the UI or anything else. It just shows the deck as prototype and has a little message to the side.

Not to mention there is a small crew of people who can actually fix it and most of them are rather busy, so having others continually make threads about the same issue (ultimately because it's affecting one of their decks and that's the only thing that most people care about) that is on the long list of stuff to fix is a bit of a crappy thing to do.

The people here extremely buisy. I agree that it can be annoying to have issues like this but its far from something that needs to be fixed asap.

Im pretty sure yeaGO has seen this along the way as its been reported a dozen times. Lets just respect his pace of work and be patient.

Hellsing just replied to me and said that the legality is bugged and we just have to live with it.

Why not disable the legality feature on the site entirely. At this point, it's a constant issue to the point where the entire legality system just comes across as annoying and pointless.

DiverDown Did some small digging on the issue, and I have found at least one common denominator.
The following cards from Magic Game Night - (GNT) have incorrect legality:

All other cards from this set do have a functioning legality.
And in Global Series: Jiang Yanggu & Mu Yanling - (GS1), only the cards listed below works:
The rest of them have incorrect legality.

This shows that only NEW entries in the database are affected by this bug, cards that existed before which only got an updated image in the sets didn't get affected.
I have tried to edit cards(using the "fix card" function) but that does not yield any result at all, everything looks okay in the forms when submitting the cards.
I also tried submitting an entry of an existing card in another set/expansion to see if it changed something, but it didn't.
So the entries in the database are probably corrupted, manual deletion and readding is maybe a way to go for individual cards. But what causes the bug I have no idea of.

To investigate this issue further it would be good if I have more cards to look at, so tag them here if you find any.

Arvail : I hope not, except for this bug I think it works somewhat good.

Hellsing sounds like a curious issue then. I think you're onto the right track though. If they are corrupted then simply deleting them and reuploading their data into the database should do the trick. Although I don't know who all has the permissions to make that change besides people I've already reached out to. I hope it gets resolved soon, thank you for your thoughts and research into this issue.

enpc The problem with the deck showing as a prototype is that it also gets taken out of Deck Builder Advanced Searches for decks in that format. I had to drop Goblin Goliath from my list to get it to drop the prototype tag and show up in searches again, and any time you add it back it immediately disappears again.

Liquidbeaver I've found that to be an issue with prototype decks as well. It's really annoying that simply having the prototype tag on will stop a list from appearing in searches, which incentivizes you to cut these select cards that have bugged legality so you're left with the trade-off of getting the exposure the list should be receiving while having to remove cards on the list that you actually have for your paper list.

It's really just a big nuisance that players have to deal with this. I think I'll file a contact request on the site when I get the chance to see if anyone can help resolve this issue that's been ongoing and known to the community for a long while now. I think Hellsing has the correct assumption that these entries are corrupted and need to be deleted and reuploaded to fix the issues. I know I've tried to fix the legality myself with no success, so somebody with more permission on the site needs to handle this.
