So, it's been three weeks and my trading partner's cards are not here
TappedOut forum

I have literature from this person saying that they received their end and they appear to be an upstanding member of the community here. However, when I voiced to them a few days ago that their cards had still not reached me, they sent me back one line of text and deleted my trade request on Tapped Out.
I don't want to think the worst of people, but should the card not show up over the next week, what should I do? This was a trade worth nearly $100. Looking back, we should have gotten delivery confirmation. That said, this person got my end of the trade.
I've never had a problem with trades on this site before, but this is genuinely frustrating. Is it common for cards to take longer than three weeks to get from Canada to the U.S?
Thanks!
I mean, I guess it's comforting to know I'm not alone in it. That said, this guy appears to have run off with three cards I really didn't want to trade in the first place, in addition to two other value cards.
Can I file mail fraud? Is it even worth it?

Nothing should take that long, I live in Australia and packages from the US (anywhere, really) take 3 weeks at most, unless they've been lost in the mail. Average for me would be little over a week.

Wow, that's the worst =(
If I knew any easy solution to getting your value back, I'd tell you... but I really don't know.

Well, I am going to get Epochalyptik involved. He may say, "Too bad. You should have gotten delivery confirmation." But for my sake, as well as those other traders, I hope he can help.
Maybe the card will show up in the next few days. If it doesn't, I'm going to look into filing for mail fraud. If it doesn't cost me over $200 to get this investigated, I will do it based on the principle of the matter.
Until then, I have to issue a warning for anyone trading with Kornex2000. I'm not saying he's guilty at this point, but I'd advise anyone waiting to trade with him to see how things pan out with me and the other traders first.

I've had a pretty established member of this community stand me up. When I try contacting them, nothing. You have my sympathy.
September 28, 2014 12:27 a.m.
Well. I've sent him an e-mail and I'm sure he is going to see the tag I put him in. He's aware of the situation and if nothing else, his account and place on this website will be at risk.
I'll just take all the communication I've had with him, along with his address and trade details to the Post Office if I have to. If they tell me nothing can be done, then I guess that's that. Karma will get me back someday.

Always demand tracking if you're ever unsure. Even if it means your partner backing out. I'd rather miss out a trade and be able to find someone else more willing/reputable than take a risk

You're right. I got a false sense of security because of the generally positive community here. I also have his Facebook. It's undoubtedly him - same name and town. I'm not sure that helps, but it's there.

I have.50 plus trades on deck box...still, I'd err encourage anyone to track anything you can't easily replace

Sounds like another Magiclover318. That guy completely turned me off of online trading. Only lost about $45 to the guy but still. Just don't even have the desire to do any trades anymore. Hopefully you have better luck than me.

If you file a mail fraud case, do so through the postal inspectors and not your local cops, or the local post office.

email epoch, i had issues with a trader over the summer and he emailed them, and basically forced them to send the cards or have his ranked account revoked. the issue was semi resolved.

did he delete the trade request after both people accepted?
September 28, 2014 1:21 a.m.
No, he said that because his account wasn't upgraded the website wouldn't let him.

Skulldrey, you have my sympathy. It's pretty bad when people seem to do this sort of thing. I'll definitely be aware of Kornex2000 for right now. Keep us posted on what happens, and good luck to you.

Update:
Kornex2000 has responded to my emails and has agreed to pay me back half of our original trade value through paypal or through card value in the mail. I have asked him to PayPal me 47.50, Equal to half our trade, until his card shows up. Because if it doesn't, then we'd be making a deal close to that anyway. Sometimes mail gets lost. It's rare, but it happens.
I'll be sending the money back to him if his card shows up. Whether or not he actually sends me the money is still up in the air. Am currently waiting for a response.

It seems he actually cares about the integrity of the trade, or at least has been convinced to.
Mail gets lost more often than you think. I lived in New York City the last two years ( Washinton Heights to be exact ) and my mail and USPS-carried packages went missing all the time.

Kornex2000 has proven himself not guilty, at least in my book.
He sent me $40 through PayPal under the pretense that should his Vendilion Clique (Altered art) show up I send him the money back.
His card showing up benefits both of us, but until then, we're kind of stuck. After three weeks, I'm not hopeful.
Epochalyptik, Kornex has asked me to delete this thread but I think only admins have the power to do that. I'll leave this at your discretion.
Big thank you to the community and to Kornex2000.

i will see about how he was able to delete the pending trade. he should be allowed to trade with upgraded members but deleting a pending one sounds like a bug.

Currently waiting on response from Kornex2000.
I don't see the trade request on either of your binder pages. I can try to find it in the admin log.

I found nothing in the admin log to suggest that a trade request ever existed. Might be a bug, as yeaGO suggested.
Relatedly, is there a chance we could get an admin lock feature that allows us to check a box on someone's profile to temporarily disable his/her binder and put a warning on his/her account saying that the user's trading practices are being investigated?

I once had a trade and I was kind of panicking because the end that was send to me got stuck at the boarder for inspection of some sort. It took one month. I do still have hope that the card gets to Skulldrey safe and sound and until then I have done my best to make a compromise. Happy trading all and I hope this doesn't effect my trading on here to much. For the more reputable traders i do not mind sending first for the time being as I do understand there may be some trust issues between myself and anyone who may have red this post.

well thanks for clearing it up quickly. these things happen. not a big deal. communication goes a long way :P

Kornex2000: You've shown a lot of class here. I really hope the trade goes through for you guys. Seems like an unfortunate situation for all concerned. Sometimes things beyond our control can foul up transactions.

JakeHarlow, I do appreciate your kind words and I am happy to see that not everyone is jumping to the conclusion that I am a scammer. It is an unfortunate incident, it sucks all the way around. For myself, Skulldrey and anyone else this may have effected. I am glad that this is something I know we will be able to put behind us. As a matter of fact, Skulldrey and i are working out some commission work as we speak as I sign of good faith!

Doing a bit of research (i deduced who it was), said person has two other trades where he hasn't sent out his end of the deal while received the other half.
And no, it doesn't take three weeks. I have done multiple trades in canada and max 14 days. Even denmark was less than 3 weeks...
