Some tweaks to the site

TappedOut forum

Might we be able to get a revision for the MTG Q&A? I've been moving threads to General like I'm an army seamstress. Even just a red reminder clause on the "ask a question" page that says "This forum is only for questions about the rules of the game; all other questions belong in the appropriate forum," rules underlined, would be nice. Also, a reminder to select an appropriate response would be useful. Perhaps we could send OP a notification if he or she hasn't selected an answer in 12 or 24 hours?

Other than that, I would like a change to the Forum Activity section of the home page. Something that would allow me to change "tabs" to view the activity in specific forums would be nice (kind of like how the deck list has tabs for latest, top, etc.).

It doesn't have to be anything as severe as a big red block of text, just a more helpful description. Something that specifies the purpose is for asking questions regarding game rules, tournament rules, and how certain cards interact with each other.

I had actually suggested this a while ago when I sent in the article I wrote. I said we should do what you are suggesting then also provide links to self help. (Gatherer.wizards.com and the rules PDF.)

Simple, change "MTG Q&A" to "Rules Q&A". Clearer labeling overall.

@Rhadamanthus: Red stands out, though. Look at our usernames. Either way, anything that facilitates proper use of the forums is a good thing. I suspect we may have had a recent spike in users because I often see people asking rules questions in Deck Help and deck help questions in the Q&A.

@http404error: The only problem I foresee with that is a potential decline in the Q&A's use; people may think it handles questions about the site's rules/CoC rather than the game rules.

If the description of the Tapped Out subforum were also edited to be clearer and more helpful, then that wouldn't be as much of a problem.
