I think the community would love to hear some of the funny stories that happen in a game of magic. There is a great amount of focus on the deck building side of the game here, to which I am grateful for. And believe me, I love this site and spend a fair amount of time on it, but sometimes I want to tell a story that I think people would find funny, but there is no forum for it. Maybe general, but the talk there is still usually geared toward how to win better, vs game play stories, and stuff. There was a recent post about someone who went to an ice cream place and saw something called "chocolate devotion", and it ended up being a really funny thread. I'd love to see more of that. So I will tell an amusing (I hope) story.
Me and my little brother play magic together. He's 9, I'm 26 and I devote way more time into the game then he does, so I usually play decks I make just to face him so it's fun and the games take a long time. It's not about a fast win when we play, but tonight I wanted to show him my deck I bring to FNM. It's my dimir flyer deck, and it has Bident of Thassa
in it, and it generates a lot of draw power. The thing is, we usually play to 100 life to make the games more epic, and I got off to a fast start, and everything was going great until I had two Bident of Thassa
out, and a lot of low cost low hitting fliers. I'm trying to take out 100 life, and I'm drawing way too many cards to the point where I have every answer in the book, (I put in (Reliquary Tower
for the long casual game knowing i'd have lots of draw), but I can't keep swinging cause I would mill myself. Well wouldn't you know it, that is exactly what ended up happening. I was able to kill anything that hit his board, but I couldn't attack without milling myself, and eventually I ran out of cards. lmao i know that's not exactly milling myself, but you know what i mean, i was running out of libary fast.
So if you think this is a good idea, I would invite you to tell a funny story that's magic related, either game play, or something you saw that was funny through the eyes of a magic player, like an ice cream called "chocolate devotion", or whatever other wacky MTG stuff that happens, I think we could enjoy a forum like that.
How do you even have 2 Bident of Thassa s out without a Mirror Gallery ?

oh shit. i didn't realize it was legendary. never had two out before. haha oops. now i'm glad i didn't win

Reading is tech.
Bident of Thassa 's ability is a "may" ability - you don't have to draw a card from it.

Unrelated, but the same is with Consecrated Sphinx if somebody Wheel of Fortune s with you having that, i dare you to draw all of the cards from sphinx without Laboratory Maniac .

Right now, these kinds of threads fall into the General forum. I don't know if we really need to subdivide it any further than that. We already have several new forums compared to the beginning of the year.
