Suggestion: add support for Magic Duels decks/card pool
TappedOut forum

I think it would be really neat if the current card pool for Magic Duels was supported on tappedout as a format description, and for card browsing purposes.
Mostly for sharing decks with other users. There's not really too many places to do this, and tappedout is my first port of call for sharing decks in general, so I think it would be nice if the card pool from this game (which is essentially its own little hybrid format) was listed as well.
Thanks.

I have no idea what the magic pool for Magic Duels is. There is card image database that was released by WotC with cards made specifically for Magic Duels (set symbol and all). If you just want to have like, a format named "Magic Duels (Videogame)" then sure, Epoch or Yeago could get that fixed for ya.

The card pool is essentially a lot of cards from Origins, with some other cards from various blocks to fill it out.
The restrictions on decks are that you can only have 1 mythic rare, 2 rare, 3 uncommon. (and 4 common).
Here's a compiled list thanks to Garren @ nogoblinsallowed:http://forum.nogoblinsallowed.com/viewtopic.php?p=321257#p321257

You mean as in how many of that card total? So like, I can have 1 Huntmaster of the Fells Flip and 1 Olivia Voldaren? Because only 1 mythic etc etc for the entire deck would be pretty shitty. That'd be like playing with a 15 card deck.
But it is an interesting format design. We could make a "Magic Duels (Video Game)" format and a "Magic Duels" format. One where only the cards for the game are applied and the other for where we can use ... in whatever of the top 4 formats we desire.

Yeah, sorry I should have been clearer - the game allows only 1 copy per deck of each mythic, 2 of a rare, 3 of an uncommon. No overall restrictions on rarities count per deck.
And yes, it's an interesting limitation to build around - have those two different ways of using the format would be cool. Although, for the game at least, some cards are considerably weaker as 1-ofs. And some cards are more powerful (I think) specifically because being limited to a 1-of doesn't hurt them. Nissa or Archangel of Tithes, for example.

If that style would be in modern, the top decks would be Jund, Delver, RDW and Affinity.
Anyways, just wait to see if Epoch or Yeago approves of this idea.

Do we have a Magic Duels Origins subforum yet? It'd be great to find out who else is playing so we could get people for 2HG or even tournaments on TappedOut.

@Femme_Fatale: I didn't think of using the social forum for that, good idea!
But I'm guessing that's still a "no" regarding a subforum?

It isn't popular enough to warrant including a subforum. It may be in the future, but isn't right now.

It's not exactly it's own format, but they're certainly supposed to be played against eachother
And the card lists are listed like any other set
