As the title implies I think it would be cool to have a checkbox for autographed cards, similar to how we can now identify cards which are Altered. I see them fairly commonly in binders or decks and also happen to have a few in mine as well.

You can do altered with asterisk A asterisk

I've considered using the Alter checkbox to denote an autographed card but it's also possible for a card to be both so distinguishing them seems like a good idea.

How are alters and signatures different? Both are when some third party applies ink to a card in a way that diminishes its value and condition.

@TurboFagoot

Diminishing value and condition through altering is a matter of opinion. Depending on the quality of the work, I would personally value alters higher than non-alters of the same card.

Not really. Go to a dealer/retailer and try to sell them your altered/signed cards. The condition is automatically knocked down a grade because of the writing.

Exactly. In their opinion they are worth less.

Yeah, but when they're opinion is worth objectively more than anyone else's by virtue of setting the secondhand market, I don't really see a reason for anyone to consider another opinion. But by all means, throw your money away.

I get what you mean, but when a store isn't involved, its all personal value when trading alters (for me at least).

I dont have the money to buy cards. I make do with borrowing what I need from friends and trading for what I can't borrow.

So all the more reason to be more frugal about these things instead of arbitrarily defying the market and losing yourself more money.
