Just a thread to test something I noticed.

Ok, so when did we become able to link threads like cards, and is it an issue that you can link ones within their own thread?

That doesn't seem like a bug to me. You're just able to link articles wherever you fell like it. Even inside the thread itself.

Yeah that's not a bug, it's a feature

I made this thread to see what happens when you link the thread inside itself. Doesn't cause any problems, but if it did I didn't want to kill anyone's thread.

raithe000 what did you think would happen?

Not sure, but I thought it might create a 404 error for the thread or something. Plus, I didn't just want to leave a useless comment on someone else's thread.

Why would it create a 404?

If you're making a website, and you have a link to your home page on your home page, it just directs you to your home page as it would from any other page.

As for linking threads in the same fashion as cards, I do think that there should be some sort of difference, say for example there's a thread, a deck, and a card names Unburial Rites that you want to talk about. Having some sort of modifier in the link may help out.

I agree about the comment and even about testing. I was just curious to your point of view. but webpages have for ages been able to 'point to themselves' and is something handled by browsers and web apps very nicely. What ends up happening, is similar to hitting f5 or ctrl+f5, but acts like any other click of a link. The link is sent by the browser to the web server as request and the web server either sends it to the web app or returns the page back to the browser to load. (web app will do the same but after processing it for the web server).

A lot of sites in the anchor tag <a> will use '/' as the href value in the top of the page to point to the home page, so when you're on the home page and click it, you're just reloading the home page.

Just a silly idea, I guess. Somehow, it got into my head this might create a glitch. Ah well, we all get a little crazy sometimes.

ThatBlueMage, there is [ [ deck|card: ] ] is that qualifier. It first checks the deck, then the card then the thread, it appears.

Rechecking the doc, it appears linking the thread this way is an undocumented feature (mentioned above).

when it first checks stuff, is without the qualifier, based on observation.
