how can you actually access the sites programming without being an administrator or something? This is coming from virtually no website/programming knowledge. I find it surprising someone was able to do this, and slightly unsettling. You can only imagine what it could be set to.

It was some guy with Angel in his name. He commented on a deck with the coding and it changed the background. This is why we can't have nice things.

ThatJunkMage do you have any idea how hard it is to clean a Gmail inbox? Not easy. Unless there's just some way I'm missing.

canterlotguardian, I highly recommend Google's new Inbox for Gmail. You can clear your Inbox in seconds. It's awesome.

the internet is strong in this one
is it not possible to turn off code in comments in the comment stream on the front page? i have no clue about stuff like that but shouldnt that be possible?

Turning off the code might not be the best solution, since inserting images and links in comments can be very helpful, along with formatting. I do think that however there should be some way of preventing background code to be put into a comment. Or maybe just a warning on the preview page, whatever works best.

Why don't we just get rid of the code somehow so no one can use images as backgrounds?

BECAUSE IMAGES :)
Though I do believe that there is a way to turn it off in the global settings part of Settings. So if it annoys you that much, go ahead.

no i meant if it were possible to get rid of the code ONLY in the version of the comment that appears in the comment stream on the front page while still letting it intact on the actual post on the deck or profile

We've already been discussing an idea along those lines. Expect something in the near future.

I want to have the only place that accepts CSS coding or any sort of other hefty coding, on the profile. No decks, no comments, no nothing but profiles.

The comments I've been killing don't even require CSS. You can change the site background with a simple tag. Granted, I'd be far more pissed if someone was changing the style of home page text boxes and other divs, but I'm still not happy about the backgrounds.

Yeah it was that way for me too, but when I refreshed the page just now, it was gone.
