TO adding an extra bracket to card editions

Sometimes when I'm updating my binder, the system will randomly decide it's going to see an extra bracket on a card in my list. It's never even the card I've changed.
For example, I'm trying right now to remove Chromatic Lantern from my want list. On my haves list, I have "Demonic Tutor [3ED]". Generally there won't be a problem, but rarely I'll go to save it and get the following error:
Printings not found for cards: Demonic Tutor [[3ED]
It's still listed properly as Demonic Tutor [3ED]. The only thing I can do so the system will allow me to save is delete the tag (not ideal, for obvious reasons). Otherwise I can wait for a random amount of time and update my list and not get the error.
What's going on? Does anyone have a workaround? It's incredibly obnoxious. I can't do anything with my binder until the issue resolves itself.

Even now, if I delete my one placeholder card, trying to empty my binder, it will revert to how it was over a year ago. Then I have to manually re-delete everything and add in another placeholder card.

@NobodyPicksBulbasaur that sounds awful, glad I don't trade here. The one time I updated my binder here it became just like my binder IRL, it quickly became disorganized, outdated, and dismantled. I like to just jam my penny-sleeved rares into a spare deck box and roll with that, takes up less room than a binder and I never have to re-organize it as new sets come out and what-not.

My binder has serious issues as well. It won't let me completely empty it. Every time I do, it just fills itself right back up as if I hadn't done anything.
The only workaround I found for my particular issue was to keep a placeholder card so that the binder was never technically empty.
