TappedOut forum

Hi there. So I just joined the site and I'm wondering what is the first thing you reccomended me to do?

Well you're already doing good by posting on here. :D I'd say the best thing to do is to start posting up deck lists of decks you either a) already have, or b) want to start building in the future. That way, other users can comment on them and let you know ways for you to improve on your concepts.

Welcome to the site, by the way. We love new people. :3

Any advice on how to get up into the top 100?

If you're friendly and useful you'll be in the top users before ya know it. I was top 10 for over 2 years before the Great Point Nuking of November and I got back up to where I am now in a few weeks by just helping people out.

Post a lot of helpful things. Post every day - help on decklists, share interesting bits of information etc.

Yo MTG1400! Great to have you involved. As Canterlot suggested, making a deck or two is a good way to start. Brush up a little on html formatting if you need to, and I suggest subscribing to a few of the big forums. I'm subscribed to Modern, Economics, and The Trading Post, so I get notifications when someone posts in them.

As for top 100, I don't have very good advice there. I've gotten to about 110 at the closest just doing what I regularly do, which is lurking in the forums for things to post on and trading a bunch -- I mean, I have decks too, but they aren't my main focus on here. XD

Welcome to tappedout, by the way.

Wait, we're talking about "tappedout rank" on listed on our userpage, right? Because apparently I'm #65 now. Whodathunk.

Sac your goats and eat your wheaties.

Do not start random arguments (that's my job) and do not incite the peasants to rise up. Also, the site runs through some strange goat sacrifice magic. Don't bother asking how.

The site crashes sometimes and Ornithopters have to deployed to rescue it.

The number one thing I can recommend you do is become extremely familiar with what each forum is, so as to not post threads in the wrong place. Also become aware of the Q&A section and that is is seperate from the forums. Epoch has the luxury of dealing with the commons and managing the forums. I'm sure he'd appreciate if he had to worry about one less confused soul.

I do a lot of forum clearing as well. He does more.

My apologies Chief, and other mods I did not mention. I didn't mean to diminish the efforts y'all put into the website.

MTG1400 if that were the case TheDevicer would have no means to communicate with us.

I hit something like 5.5K posts on another forum that forbid the "excessive spam of images" in comments. The site made it even easier to link images than TO, so you can imagine how much I abused the feature.

MTG1400: the best way to get up in rank or just get well known is too comment on decks, threads, and walls. you can also make decks that have catchy, creative titles or just are cool decks to get lots of upvotes and make you more well known! before The Great Point Nuking of November, i was rank #207 on the sight, and i had only been on for like 5 months! now Im #34, but i can thank the Nuking for that...

To clarify, you may use gif and other images freely. Just don't post porn or anything weird. It's not necessarily that we don't want to see it, it's just that it makes the goats upset. Upset goats don't make good sacrifice fodder.

December 9, 2015 10:56 p.m.

Well...

The first thing to do once you sign up for the site: Shit post.

It's all I do. And before the "point nuking" as some call it, I was rank 21.

But rank means nothing anyways.

So, to really help out, use the site's deckbuilding feature and make a damn deck!
