Two Entirely Unrelated Suggestions
TappedOut forum

Over the past few days, I've had a couple ideas come to mind that might be neat, small additions to the site. Figured I'd share:
- A "quick-add" to the binder/inventory. Just a little box off to the side with an input box for the card name, and a check box for which list it should go into (haves, wants, inventory). I honestly might have suggested this before and was told that it's on the list, but not a priority. This is completely true, but I figured I'd bring it up again with my other suggestion. This would certainly be useful when making trades and small binder updates. It also wouldn't interfere with where the card goes, which would be a problem if cards were automatically added after a trade.
- This one is a little more obscure, and I'm not really sure on specifics. Anyways, with formats like Modern, Legacy, and EDH, people have their go-to builds. I gravitate towards some form of control, some people are known for their Infect knowledge, others for their combo knowledge, etc. I think it would be useful to have a voluntary page that lists users and their specialties. Have the list divided by format, and have each users' specialties listed under/next to their name. Maybe be able to search said list? This could get crowded as well, so maybe make this something available to the top 100 users or something to keep it down and limited to our most experienced users (or at least most active). The user could place themselves on this list the same way they can change their title after they break the top 100. I'm not sure where or how this could work, but it's just a thought.
Admins and fellow TappedOut'ers, thoughts?

Thanks TheHroth. I probably could have explained #2 more. In general, this would be for users who were open to answering questions. It would be entirely voluntary, and would be for users who were looking for others who are familiar with an archetype they're working on. I guess we'd have to survey those who would be able to put their names on the list to gauge interest.

Dont get me wrong, I'd love to do it! I think people will like if the idea takes off.

I would sign up for Modern Rock, but there are about half a dozen other users much more experienced with it than me.

Both Ideas seem good to me. sign me up for budget building.

budget building. now... that's two hubs. kind of an interesting thought.

all my decks are below $200.00, so that's why budget building.... I don't netdeck (copy and pilot a winning deck) I homebrew everything. Usually starting with an intropack then tweaking it, or buying a box and building from scratch....

I'm not sure how well it would work with Standard, but with formats like Modern and Legacy, there's only a dozen or so major decks that are played. Of course there are variations of each, but just having an idea of who's familiar with Modern control or something would be helpful when building new decks. EDH could get a little messy, maybe each user could list up to 5 of their most-played commanders?
Not sure, I'm just throwing ideas out there.

EDH would be supremely hard, simply due to the extreme variety between decks, even ones that share commanders.
For Standard, I think the best thing would be to have a few people for the format as a whole, provided they understand all of the current meta. Having users for each archetype would be pretty hectic, as it is always changing.

Yeah, those were my concerns. I think ~5 commanders for EDH would work, and maybe for standard have it divided simply between control, aggro, midrange, and other generic topics? Just listing people who consider themselves up to date with the data would also be helpful.

Maybe it could be a thing upgraded (maybe even supporter level people) can put on thier profiles.
Like I Specialize in
Commander : xxx
Modern : rwb(mardu)
Standard : xx
It would be like a hub that shows up on your profile. From there idk if that would be searchable?

I like that idea VampireArmy, but I think a big part of it is being able to search the list, or have the list in one spot. It's more of a place to find people to help you rather than having to search for who's experienced with that deck. I probably could have worded that much better...

ducttapedeckbox What if the specialties were drop down hubs and whatever you picked then you are added to a list for that category view-able by everyone?

I think that's along the lines of what I was getting at, quesobueno123. I'm not sure how well it would work, that parts up to YeaGo :P I'm not sure where the page itself would be located anyways...

I don't like the idea of it being upgraded users only. I'm not upgraded, but would really enjoy being a part of this if it ever becomes a thing, and I'm sure many other non-upgraded users would be competent and willing as well.

So is this basically a resident experts list for hubs/formats?

That definitely simplifies it yeaGO, yup. I think it would be a simple yet valuable resource for players who have an idea of what they like to play but want to branch into new formats (specifically the Standard to eternal/Modern jump).
I don't think it should be an upgraded thing. I do however think it needs to be limited, and rank is a part of the site that's already introduced that can easily determine who can be on the list.

I don't use the tradebider yet, but the quick-add thing seems helpful.
As for the list of users and specialties, I think that would get pretty confusing. I like the idea though. I just think the users tagged on the page would have to be willing to answer a lot of questions, because I'm sure they'd get asked a lot.
