Dem sweet, sweet internet points. So when it comes to a deck, what drives you to give them out?

Are you after a witty name, a description that makes you laugh?

Do you like to upvote the big decks or do you prefer to help the new ones gian some confidence?

Do you focus on the type of deck or the specific card choices?

Do you only upvote original concepts? How important are themes or gimmicks in the deck?

For me, I like to see that a deck has had thought put into it. I personally have a strong leaning towards combo decks as I find them more interesting. But even if a deck wins through combat damage, I like to see that there are synergies between cards.

Descriptions go a LONG way in handing out upvotes. Well thought out explanations that talk about the aims of the deck are good.

Visual layout goes hand in hand with descriptions. I don't mind if a deck has a particular font or colour scheme, but readability of the information is super important.

A big turnoff when it comes to deck descriptions though - just listing every card and writing a description for it. Yes, I know Islands tap for blue mana thank you :P

So what kind of deck are you after? what do you like to give upvotes to and what are the things that hold you back from handing out dem points?

I don't upvote decks. Upvotes are meaningless. I'd rather leave a comment.

I playtest decks and up vote if they play well.

If I test a deck and can see that changes might make it better, then the owner tweaks the deck (not necessarily using my suggestions), and it plays a bit better, I will upvote.

I have occasionally up voted for an exceptionally clever name.

I upvote a deck when I want to save it and come back to it later.... is there any way to see ALL of the decks I've upvoted?

I usually up vote one of two things -

  • decks that make me think about something new in MTG
  • decks that make me laugh

I really enjoy long, thought out descriptions, as well as a 'weird sh*t I included in the list' section. That way, you don't need to write out an entire list of card descriptions. If you end up doing that, I'm fine, but try to keep it in a spoiler tag so I don't have to scroll through it...
