Vouching by non-upgraded users

Why can't non-upgraded users vouch? It seems a bit nonsensical to me: you upgrade in order to receive benefits for yourself around the site, so why is helping others something you need to pay for too? If a user makes a trade through this site, I believe that his/her trading partner should be able to recommend him to others, regardless of whether or not he/she has paid $5.

Because it would be possible for puppet accounts to vouch for a scammer.

You have to think about the worst-case scenarios, even if they're (relatively) unlikely.

Ah, that makes sense now.

You can always write little reviews on your binder for those you have traded with. I myself have written a few. They aren't worth as much as a voucher but it does help a little bit.
