What feature would you most like to see tappedout add?

TappedOut forum

Personally, I'd love to see some form of card pricing appear in the hover-over card name popup. Similar to TCGplayer or mtggoldfish etc.

Anything you guys find yourself wishing for?

(I'm not a programmer, I ave no idea how hard this stuff is to implement, and I'm thankful this site is as well set-up as it is - this is just a wish list)

Oh, and we also had some users specifically asking to have the username function removed a long time ago. Especially when the glowing usernames became a thing. We should give every username the option to turn various coding functions off and not render. Beyond that, proper regulation. I've pretty much defined what exactly is acceptable in the usernames on my tutorial, and I'll be covering profiles within the next two weeks.

The possibility for non-upgraded people to change their rank once in the top 100? Please?

Options to set user names to default is not as important. Even the animated ones did nothing compared to the profiles. Also the spacing when someone makes their names bigger is no big deal either. They don't lag me, or make anything hard to read.

April 20, 2015 10:21 p.m.

Didgeridooda says... #6

I doubt they would change that though FW.

April 20, 2015 10:22 p.m.

I mean, if you're in the top 100 and still not a member, you probably deserve it :)

But yeah, you're probably right :( Oh well.

April 20, 2015 10:23 p.m.

Just saying, getting 93 upvotes on a deck with one cycle a day and no advertising is pretty damn rough.

April 20, 2015 10:24 p.m.

Didgeridooda says... #9

lol, I think it would be nice. I just don't think it is something that would be changed.

I'm just wondering how long my profile takes to load versus other people's usernames. I need to figure out if it is the transparency, the font colour or the images. My guess it is the images needing to be zipped and shrunken. After that, if that doesn't fix it, removing transparency, because transparency can cause low-end computers to go ape-shit if the size of transparent png's are any indication. I highly doubt it's the font colour though.

In order for me to figure this out, I need a detailed analysis. And your screen resolution. Which you can get from a simple google search.

April 20, 2015 10:25 p.m.

Runlue says... #11

I just find it weird that a few people actually hated it, so that's all I'm concerned about. Thanks ThisIsBullshit. :D

April 20, 2015 10:26 p.m.

Runlue says... #12

Femme, I can load your profile just fine, and I'm on a pretty cruddy computer.

April 20, 2015 10:27 p.m.

Femme_Fatale says... #13

It's the people who don't know how to code and are spreading around information that are causing the main problems, Runlue.

April 20, 2015 10:27 p.m.

Femme_Fatale says... #14

Okay, now I want you to compare me with Blizzicane's, DERPLINGSUPREME's, FAMOUSWATERMELON's and 6tennis's profile. Also, screen resolution!

April 20, 2015 10:28 p.m.

Runlue says... #15

Okay, so I'm cool then? Lol

April 20, 2015 10:30 p.m.

Didgeridooda says... #16

Femme only took like 8 seconds to load, but I do not like colors. It is not as much of a strain to read as some of the others, but I prefer the basic layout for reading. The normal set up for the site has good contrast, and is not too bright. It is easy to read, and if I could have an option to keep it that way, I would use it.

April 20, 2015 10:31 p.m.

1164 X 931

Blizzcane's took a bit to load, but after that it was just fine, ran smoothly.

Derpling's, on this computer anyways, his entire description didn't load, and the whole page was really slow.

Watermelon's was perfect, nothing wrong with loading or speed.

6tennis' was the same as Watermelon's, just fine.

April 20, 2015 10:35 p.m.

Yay, I'm poyfect :)

April 20, 2015 10:36 p.m.

Femme_Fatale says... #19

I've been trying to keep it sort of like that Didgeridooda, advocating for purely dark colours. I'll probably go back to making my wells transparent, since then it'll just be text on a black background.

I hadn't even considered that animation could cause issues... I'd seen that my mobile version hadn't worked out the way I wanted it to. I suppose it's off to write new code!

Definitely appreciate the resources listed. fontsquirrel.com is awesome!

April 20, 2015 10:45 p.m.

Femme_Fatale says... #21

I actually have a code on my profile and am sticking it on my decks for specifically removing all animations.

.> Wrooong thread. Sorry guys.

Did have something to say here, though. Would it be able to append an edit to the preexisting comment, wrapping it in hidden tags or something of the sort?

April 20, 2015 10:48 p.m.

lol.

really Runlue? mine was the worst?

April 20, 2015 11:07 p.m.

Runlue says... #24

Derpling, yours is only bad on the computer I was on. Yours works just fine on the one I'm on now.

April 20, 2015 11:22 p.m.

Runlue says... #25

I bet brcap is like "Woah, I started a simple forum and now the top guys of the website are having a discussion on it. This is awesome!"

:)

April 20, 2015 11:24 p.m.

true enough. I'm not much of a fat-cat myself, i'm pretty sure most havent heard of me, but the ones who have... oh buy.

Femme, Bullshit, Watermelon is well known, Derp, you're in the top 100, so I consider you one of them. Same with you Didgeri. I'm juuuuust about to hit the top 500, so I consider myself "up there", but not nearly as much as you guys lol.

April 20, 2015 11:31 p.m.

I'm Famous.

April 20, 2015 11:32 p.m.

thats what I assumed.

yeago rarely even EXISTS, so its interesting to see him comment. but yeah, we're all in the top 100 cept for run, but hes getting there.

Yay, I'm getting there. :D

I don't consider myself a top guy. Just someone that gets on here too much, especially while I am sports watching.

April 20, 2015 11:41 p.m.

I really want him to come back to check in, see all this shit, then look at my threads to see what I was talking about when I said "i'm pretty sure most havent heard of me, but the ones who have... oh boy."

April 20, 2015 11:41 p.m.

Runlue says... #34

Ya, you don't want to know Derp until you are ready. Like, REALLY ready. XD

April 20, 2015 11:46 p.m.

Back to (kind of) on topic, I was actually wondering if extra hands were needed in writing code for the site. Is there any precedent for this?

April 21, 2015 12:28 a.m.

Femme_Fatale says... #42

Don't think so. yeaGO doesn't really have the money to hire someone.

April 21, 2015 12:32 a.m.

Defpotec says... #43

Even as a labor of love? :3

Honestly, I figure the answer is no. Otherwise I would have asked directly... It's just that with a project of this size, there are a lot of little fixes where it's easy to think, "Oh, I'll do that after I'm done with [insert more pressing matter here]."

April 21, 2015 12:36 a.m.

Femme_Fatale says... #44

I certainly agree with that, and I wouldn't mind helping out the system myself if I can get taught. Obviously however, that is a much larger task than what most would want to spend time doing. So I do what I can, with things like tutorials and asking most of the questions that are brought up here and on various other user's profiles.

April 21, 2015 2:49 a.m.

Defpotec says... #45

Honestly, things like adding prices into preview frames isn't really difficult with the existing code. With the amount of skill you seem to possess in web development, I bet you could apply that after a week of study depending on what method and language is used to load prices.

Turning off scripts in usernames, however, is a major undertaking unless yeaGO disables the use of link tags... Which would also break any CSS formatting that's stored in dropbox.

And let's be honest. Nobody has time to look through a bunch of other people's ill formatted code just to give it the ok. It's the small number of people who insert upvote scripts into mystery links or onload statements that are the "real" issue here.

Epoch and yeaGO have to run around far too much in my opinion...

So, my suggestion: Name customization within parameters. The idea is that you give a bunch of options (color, underline, curved top/bottom border everyone seems to like, font, etc.), and we have the ability to toggle them off or on and give parameters. This does nothing to help with deck customization, but I'm not even sure where one would start there. No, not something I'd like to see, but probably something that's in the site's best interest...

April 21, 2015 3:13 a.m.

ChiefBell says... #46

It's really feel that it's kind of arrogant / egotistical to think YeaGo and Epoch etc have the time to read every single code that gets sent to them in order to 'ok' it. At the moment we've had massive problems with all of this rubbish that range from intentional abuse to accidental screw ups and I'm not really happy with it.

April 21, 2015 5:45 a.m.

ChiefBell says... #47

And if Epochalyptik is getting tired of it that really says something because he's generally a lot more liberal with what users can and can't do than I am.

Essentially it's just a complete nightmare.

April 21, 2015 5:45 a.m.

Defpotec says... #48

Erm, I apologize that I missed you in there, ChiefBell. Still pretty new to the community part of this site, dunno who everyone is quite yet.

My proposal is essentially to implement themes so the users more or less get what they want and administrators here don't need to babysit when they could be doing the cool things they want to be doing with their energy.
