I used to be rank 28 and I have been on the site everynight commenting on decks, posting my own, trying to beat epoc to a Q&A every now and again, and posting in the forums and somehow my rank shot up to over 60,000. what happened.

Yep, and I'm down to 24. Looks like I need to be a little more active.

Woot first place!
In all seriousness though everyone on that list deserves to be on it. Shout-out to all of you.

It was all carefully explained in that other thread... something to do about monks or some such....
Ah found it. This is quoting Balthasar who was himself quoting Dr.McMeen says...4:16 a.m. on October 3, 2011
Points are derived via an arcane formula developed in 1467 by a trio of blind Hungarian monks. The Eyeless Ones (as they were known) had discovered through years of meditation that an objective, quantitative measurement of one's prowess was needed- thus, they embarked on their quest to create the perfect "Pont Rendszer," or Point System.
After nearly forty years, the Eyeless Ones had finally devised a method of extracting cranial fluid from female doves that had been caged in the same room as the individual whose prowess was to be measured, which was then boiled and poured over a 1 meter cube of ice brought down from the mountains. The resultant cracks and holes in the ice were rapidly counted as the monks ran their hands over the cube. This number is the number of points that the individual received.
I'm not sure exactly if or how this process has been modified, as the monks passed it on only to a select few, but I do know that it is the basis for Tappedout's point scale. Hope that helps.

This sounds like total BS, but I'm fine with that, lol. Great story even if it is bs.

@ _is_the_word yes clearly this is a contrived story, I figured by its utter outlandishness no one would actually consider it to be the true story...
None the less it is the OFFICALY UNOFFICIAL explanation around these parts to be referred to in all subsequent cases of confusion over site points/rank.

Apparently I'm not nearly as active as I thought I was. I'm still only in the 30s. Granted I wasn't even on the top 50 list before.

Woot! The story has become viral! and I'm on the top 50!!

The ranking system was recently revamped and turned back on. It's hard to tell what the true significance of the new numbers are, besides the fact that now higher is better. Looking on the Community page, you're actually #15 now, so congratulations!
