What is the rule...
TappedOut forum

What is the rule or general rule of thumb if the person you submitted a trade with, 1 has not sent the card out apparently (havent recieved it in the 10 days we exchanged address's) and 2 is no longer a member of the tappedout site?
Precautions? I approached it like the last few trades I made with other members, who are great members I will add. and as such was conducted as normal i suppose, I guess it is a at your own risk thing, but I don't like being cheated is all, though it was only a Skaab Ruinator on my part. I have no main issue with anyone, as i am sure these things can happen, I am just earnestly curious now. I was first approached, asking to trade said card and worked out a deal after some time, mainly due to a general lack of communication, I chalked it up to a general lack of net access.

I have a uniform, methodical approach to trading:
I ask the other person to send their cards first. I would like them to be hard-cased, penny-sleeved, and packaged in a USPS standard flat-rate padded envelope. Delivery confirmation on-request.
I then ship my cards after receiving theirs. I package mine exactly how I request they package theirs.
This is all mostly as a precaution to make sure I don't get burned on a trade, since the majority of my online trades have been in the $20+ range. This helps offset the shipping costs.
If at any point someone does not feel or seem confident about the trade, either person should be able to call it off. There are no obligations until the deal is finalized and the actual transaction has begun.

Yes I have seen numerous comments of yours stating the 20$ or above value, I was like shipping costs, for a single stamp wtf? lol Now I know, though I personally don't like to send first and wait on them I would prefer that both be dropped off/shipped at the same time. Flat-rate is kinda up there for cards, but it makes logical sense as well

Well the flat-rate package is about $1.10 or so, and then delivery confirmation raises the total cost to about $3-4. I would use regular envelopes, but hard cases cause them to be ripped up by the processing machines.

Yea man always be cautious if they are new to the site. I personally havent been screwed over yet and the issues that has happened was resolved. I know when I have dealt with new people in the past I have had them ship first. If I know they are reliable or someone i have traded with before then I trade same time.
With that said that is kinda crap that is not how this awesome site works.

Yea I have learned the hard way, now I just gotta not get paranoied about the 2 other trades I have been waiting on, it does suck though when some one does not ship until they receive the card first, and don't tell you that, I will now only ship if they do same day or will wait til I get the card(s) first. Yea I mean you bman5604 your a good person and a great trader, trustworthy and would recommend to to others (if my trade binder intro wasn't hella long already lmao :p) guess I gotta be more conservative of the people I trade with, I would just like to have people state they will ship after they receive first or what have you, a lil courtesy is all I ask for.
I agree with ya man, this site is pretty damn sick, glad Nobilior turned me onto it when I met him at Magic Celebration lol

I wonder if we could get a trader feedback system going...
October 29, 2011 10:49 p.m.
I whole heartedly endorse a feedback system a la eBay or something. It was 2x Laboratory Maniac s, Puresteel Paladin , and Hinterland Harbor

Sorry to hear that man. One thing you might have to consider also is the huge winter storms that came threw up north. But with that said. I was looking over your binder and I saw a lot of foils I wanted. Since we have traded before maybe you might be willing to trade? :)

@ Epochalyptik, I had actually suggested that earlier. I hope that we can have some sort of feedback available for trades. As of now, I'd suggest everyone post in their trade binder people that have come through on trades to ensure that others will be a little more certain of who they're trading with.
@DukeNicky sorry to hear about your trade gone wrong. I hope that the person you were trading with comes through in the end.

It's kind of situational. What precautions were taken prior to the trade, how was the trade conducted/approached, etc.?
