What was the first format on this site

I recently got into magic like around the rug format. I was wondering what was the first format on this site?
Assuming you are referring to R/U/G, that is a color combination (and debatably an archetype) but is not a format. The official formats of Magic would be Standard, Modern, Legacy and Vintage.

I know what formats are and yes that's some nice / those things you have there.
Anyways what was the first format on this site?

RUG is not a format. It's a color combination.
Are you asking what the first available format was, or what everyone started playing? Also, are you asking about actual formats, or are you asking about deck types.

Maybe you should ask a question that makes sense.
November 14, 2014 5:21 p.m.
The first format was WTF, followed by OMG, followed by BBQ.
November 14, 2014 5:28 p.m.
Well I guess the first format on the site was standard? I'm guessing.

IndepenentMeta You do realize that if you take a rug and stuff it in a bug you have a bugrug and therefore your question is not about formats but about BUGRUGS. Or you just are confusing as hell.

I'm not sure its a troll I think it may just be one of the few cases of "English as a third language" whereby someone incompletely and inaccurately learns a second language and then they take a class to learn English taught in that second language.

His question made perfect sense. It was the first statement that did not, even then you know what he means. I have no idea what the first format on this site would be, probably all of the official ones were added at the same time.

Am I the only one who read that as, I got into magic just as an around-the-rug (ie casual) format?
His question and statement made sense. They just weren't interpreted correctly.

If that were the case they should have said what you said and not "omg answer the question" after people expressed they don't understand. The original post might have been innocent enough but that wasn't. Hard to take someone seriously after that

TelleoStar: the question and statement made no sense because they were not complete, nor coherent thoughts. When communicating, especially in writing, the onus is on the person doing the communicating to express their ideas clearly.
"I recently got into magic like around the rug format." is a confusing and fragmented idea. "I recently got into magic. I play casually like as an around-the-rug format." makes much more sense with just a few added words and punctuation to express the idea clearly.
"I was wondering what was the first format on this site?" also makes very little sense. Are they asking about what the first format added to the site was? Are they trying to start a conversation about how people like to play? Making it either "I was wondering what was the first format this site supported?" Which still makes little sense since basically TappedOut is a database with the ability to make custom subgroups and an integrated forum and doesn't really offer support for any format. Or they could have said "I was wondering what was the first format played by other users of this site?" Which is coherent.

What was the first block on this site and what did the meta consist of?

You want to know how long the site has been around, which would give you an idea of what was being played at the time.

From yeaGOs user page, he's been on the site for 6+ years so that was somewhere between Shards and Zendikar. RUG and Jund were common Standard decks as Bloodbraid Elf was damn good.

That looks pretty neat man so you remove until u exile a card that cost less then her summon?

Yep, that's how the cascade ability works. You can do some pretty cruel stuff with Hypergenesis, or even just Bloodbraid Elf into Hymn to Tourach.
November 15, 2014 5:41 p.m.
There is a SQL table which contains the formats and the one with a primary key of 1, which signifies the first record added to the table, is the format for Standard.
