Why is there no Block format?

... for all the block constructed decks?

I know it might be difficult to write an algorithm to check if the cards are legal, but people playing block should handle that themselves. Just make all cards legal in that and then it would be done.

Huh?

Sorry, maybe I should have clarified:

When creating a deck, the format dropdown is missing the 'Block' (constructed) format. Format as in Modern, Legacy, Standard etc.

Then, on the deck's page, the site checks for legal cards in the respective format. It might (or might not) be hard to write a function to check if cards are legal in block, since there are obviously many different blocks. But if you just keep all cards as legal in block (like in casual), that should be no problem.

I guess a few cards were banned from block construced, but still the benefits of having a 'Block' format would outweigh the disadvantages of not having all cards properly displayed as legal.

seems we could detect that automatically.... the only thing we don't track is the bannings.

yeaGO!: You could write a script saying (this is in plain English): "If it is in Zendikar, Worldwake, or Rise of the Eldrazi, then count it for Zendikar block." You could also put something that: If you select block, it has you choose what block. Also, it would give us the option to show decks from INS-RTR standard and have it show up as that.

but would Block Constructed be a new format or... what? Would your deck still be Standard (or whatever)

Can't see Block in the format list yet.

Btw: The ordering is cool :) Although it says for some cards unknown block, which seems weird.

Example: http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/azorius-peacekeepers/?category=block

50 cards are set in an unknown block, including cards that share a set with other cards that have a block attributed (RTR).
