I DEMAND THAT THE LITTLE > OR < SYMBOL THAT POINTS UP BE ADDED AS A THING YOU CAN SEE IN THE COMMENTS AND STUFF.

It is a thing.

Unfortunately, it is also a thing in Markdown syntax, which this site uses. So it disappears, as the server tries to use it for something else.
