You know what triggers me? People who pull their SJW agenda and themselves commit violations of social justice codes or even common decency in the progress. For example, this:

why are you putting men in parentheses? Is rape on males less important? That is sexist and irresponsible. You are downplaying rape. Female rape perpetrators are considered a myth by way too many people already. Too many otherwise smart people believe that males enjoy to be raped anyway and no real harm is done.
It is not OK to be sexist and irresponsible like that. You should not be sexist like that unless you want (potential) female rapists to think that their crimes are somehow more acceptable. If you are aware and care, you should avoid putting men in parentheses.
How's it feel to be word-choice-shamed? Just be nice. And for goodness sake, don't try to educate others.

I don't get this whole conversation. If another person think it's funny, let them laugh. Let them say swear words amd stuff. You can always chose not to be offended. Your own rules should not apply to others - even if you don't like it. It's the same with vegans i.e. - if you're vegan, feel free to eat what you want, but let others eat what they want aswell.

All that we are ultimately asking for in this thread is a shred of politeness. Consider how what you're saying effects others rather than just assuming that it doesn't before naming your deck, and if someone complains, at least show them them a small bit of courtesy and respond to them.
AKA don't be a dick.
Disclaimer: I disagree with the used sources but agree with the ultimate goal. People die, commit suicide and have their entire psyche changed. Courtesy and kindness can go a long way.

(This goes both ways you see. There is no right or wrong. People will do what they want to do within the rules - and as long as T/O is not starting censoreship, the word "rape" is totally within these rules.)

Politeness is what is lacking in this thread from the start. There are so many insults and slurs in the OP's posting that any demand for politeness is nothing but hypocrisy.
Concerning you, if you emphasize asking for politeness, I would prefer that you use a modifier to declare who you are adressing. That would be polite. Also consider to avoid using "we" and instead to speak for yourself.

It's not a matter of sense of humor, it's a matter of what is harmful and what is not. I'm not asking for censorship, I'm not going to call people out for it, I'm not going to complain about how it hurts. All I want is for people to at least use their minds and remember that other people in the world exist.

Do I get offended, when people refer to Germans as Nazis? Sure I do, but eh, w/e. Do black people get offended, when you refer to them as N-words? Sure they do. Point is: words are just that - words. It's actually insane we're having this discussion. What happened to you is awful and atrocious. But it happened to you. I don't like to read words like "rape" in the context of magic either. Still if the word "rape" triggers something, maybe you should go make a therapy? The world is a harsh place and to find someone giving 2 cents about your feelings is difficult. So maybe you should use your energy to help yourself instead of getting hung up on some jerks using the word "rape" out of context?

Get the social justice crap outta here. This isn't the place for it. this is basically a huge thread saying "I don't like it, get rid of it!" that is no justifiable reason to do so. Huffington Post is not a reliable source, your statistics are skewed and i've only read half of that thing. Also stop with the "trigger" nonsense. Rape is not normalized like you say it is, in the distinct and explicit laws AGAINST such things. Even if killing is more "acceptable" it will always be the most severe thing. The fact we can talk about it casually is a good thing for society, it means we're not all pansies afraid to have bad feelings. This will turn into an Orwellian nightmare if this stuff is able to run rampant censoring things people don't like. I won't go further because this entire discussion isn't meant for a MAGIC THE GATHERING website, but there is my two cents.

You know, I am no fan of using rape, murder, or whatever as a shock effect to promote a deck. I am deeply disappointed by how successful that strategy is sometimes. But this thread is even more disappointing. The hypocrisy, it is incredible. That's why I'm calling people out.
I would prefer it if you would not shame people for their choice of beard style, hats or snacks. Practice what you preach.

Oh yes. Some people don't make the effort to differentiate there at all. I used to get really upset over it. Now I just don't waste my attention anymore. Getting mad about someone who has literally no importance in my life would only increase the negative effect their remark had.

Triforce-Finder, everyone has their rights. I don't intend to infringe upon them, and I'm not asking for the mods to censor anything nor wish for anyone to feel like I'm attacking them. People have a right to be offended (although I feel like some people enjoy it too much), and people have a right to defend themselves.
I understand everyone's arguments here. I understand that people want to be able to have a sense of humor without feeling like they're being restricted. But sometimes someone's sense of humor can be harmful, either physically, mentally or emotionally. I just want to see the community be able to think about how what they say hurts others and not act impulsively or rashly.

It is basically a recount of violent crimes and tragedies in the last 24h, with "oh look, we had a puppy show today as well" tacked on to "balance" things out.
Edit: I just had a random thought - "vampiric rapehouse" is a great name for a Twilight fanfic.

Every time I see a title with the word "rape" or some other less than PG word in it, I cant help but think less of the user, because, to me, it just means that they lacked the brain capacity to come up with an amusing or accurate title and felt that they had to resort to a shocking or disturbing title to get a reaction. That said, the rules are unlikely to get changed.
