Good trade?

My: 2x vendilion cliqueTheir: 1x champion of the parish 3x clifftop retreat 2x huntmaster
I don't play modern, only standard, and these cards I could use but will the huntmasters' price decline? And how about the clique? Seeing as it's a modern staple, will the price continue at ~$30 or will it increase/decrease?
Let me know what you guys think, I'm always second-guessing trading off my old money cards...
Well, clifftop will go down, Huntmaster might stay, champion is only worth that much until he rotates.
I wouldn't do it, but if you need the cards, by all means do it. I believe you could get whatever you want for the Cliques.

There is a slight chance you could have gain with that trade if standard works like it did in the past with fast aggressive decks being on top the first few weeks of post rotation standard. I'll use Hero of Oxid Ridge as an example. At the end of zendicar m11 standard he was around $5, when Innistrad hit he was $10 for the first couple months (he's now barely above $2 now but that's besides the point...), this was all thanks to the fact that it takes awhile for most of the meta to figure out the good decks, as such aggro is the way a lot of players go.

i can't believe how fast the year is going lol talking about Clifftop Retreat rotating out and stuff its crazy!! where has the past 6 months gone!?!? anyway yea slightly off track there lol i would personally keep hold of the cliques mate they can only really go up in value unless something better is printed to replace them which is unlikely? lol

I don't think Clifftop Retreat will drop any appreciable amount in value unless you're nitpicking over a dollar.
As for Huntmaster of the Fells Flip , I'm not as attuned to the Standard environment as I once was so I'm not able to make an accurate estimate of its price prospects for the next few months.
I still doubt that the trade was worth it in terms of value, but if you are going to be using the cards you got in return then that counts for something.
So it goes.

uh... clifftop retreat doesn't rotate until 2013. By simple supply and demand clifftop retreat will go up as the year progresses (how much will depend on the decks that use it). Less people will have clifftop retreat and they'll be harder to get a hold of with RTR. As will all the innistrad duals. That part of the trade is actually fine imo, its the rest of it that I'd have to say I probably wouldn't have done. The huntmasters are stabilizing, but they've been falling for a while now. It's been a pretty stable decline too since its spike in February. The champion has been so up and down since it's release that if it goes down while you have it, just wait for it to go back up as it probably will in a few months.
That being said, Vendilion Clique is a modern staple and unless they get liberal with the banlist again then it'll stick around and keep its value. I don't play modern myself, but it appears that it is now a stable format and if that is true and vendilion clique continues to have its place here then it'll stay high.

i think that a boros guild in RTR could aid the Clifftop Retreat too boros was always my favourite in Ravnica :-)

with ravnica coming back clifftop could go either way but i do believe it will go up to 7-8 pending on if they reprint the shock lands which looks like they may do. Hunt also may stay around 15-20 even after roation. champion is the wierd card pending the amount of humans lost which is a good bit and to the humans gained??? He is a hit or miss card could go back to a buck or even hit 15 you just don't know.

To add to my previous comment, Rancor is getting printed in m13 and naya is decently competitive now, add the almost impossible to get rid of +2/+0 and trample aura for one and you got a way to make every creature in the deck a good clock. With this in mind all of those cards in the trade could jump in value. Also it'll be fun with the new Ajani.

I personally wouldn't have made that trade unless I was the one getting the Vendilion Clique s.
