Is this just a trade system where you mail eachother the cards and Trust the other person to hold up their end? Is there any kind of sight ban if you don't? is there a way to see if someone has previously completed trades to make a decision on who to trust?

It's mostly trust based. With in the site though you can initiate trades with other users typically after an agreement has been reached. The trade then publicly appears on your profile and theirs. This system is also trust based, when you receive your end you can click a button on your profile saying you received their cards. They too have the same option for when they receive your end.
If you received yours and clicked the button saying so but they didnt receive your end it'll stay on your profile and it'll be on theirs as well until they clear it.
Users with upgraded accounts(a one time payment) can also do a legitimate vouching for users. Others like me just do a little listing in our binder for people we've had success with or failures with.
When doing a trade don't just jump right in to the card swap. Talk to the trader you wish to trade with and get a good feel for them. Exchange emails, use pictures as proofing, agree on sending days, use an agreed card value site like scg or tcgplayer(the most common two) and if you're concerned with trading try to trade with people who have a good trade rep. You might have to send first but higher rep users you have paid accounts are less likely to screw you over. Also in their profile you can see their length of membership that should help too.

Curses! Dang cell phone being a pain to reply to this forum got me ninja'd! Oh well don't forget the golden rule like I forgot to mention.
If its to good to be true than it probably is. If you don't feel safe doing the trade you don't have to. Don't let them pressure you in to it and wait for the right trades for you that make you feel comfortable trading.

Well you need a trade binder for a start if you want to trade otherwise no one will know what cards you have and what you want.

Yes, I don't know, and yes. There is a vouching system on here that is available to paid members. Once you have been on the site for 3+ months you can post a trade binder, and if a paid member has vouched for you (saying that their trade with you went successful) it will show up in the bottom of your trade binder. Most of the time those who are vouched for already will request that someone who has no vouchers send their cards first (to avoid being scammed) and when they receive the cards will then vouch for said person and send their end of the trade.
I myself have traded with over 25 people on here and have not been scammed yet, but that does not mean it isn't possible. If you are thinking about starting to trade, a few hints to keep you safer.
1- look at how long they have been on the site and their site ranking. The lower the number and the longer they have been on the site is a better chance that they are legitimate and could be trusted.
2 - make sure if its the first time trading with someone, you get shipping confirmation before sending anything.
3 - read the rules and procedures of trading posted on the site if you have not previously done so. Also make sure to be specific when giving instructions on how you want your items shipped, the conditions they are in and ask if they have any special needs with shipping their items. It always helps.
4 - be courteous and ship your items out quickly. Its annoying when people don't.
Other than that, if you have been with the site for less than 3 months, build yourself a "temp binder" deck and post in this forum what you are looking for and point people to your temp binder deck. Good luck!
