Is a Voice of Resurgence for 2 Sphinx's Revelations fair?
I need the SR but I am new and I don't want to get ripped off for my Voice.
Depends on how bad your needing the cards. It's off by a few dollars. But it seems ok at best.

The person you are trading with would be getting better trade value out of it. According to Star City Games (which is the site I normally use for price comparisons), Sphinx's Revelation is at $20 while Voice of Resurgence is sitting at $45. I would try to see if I could get something for those few extra dollars. It's not a bad trade though, and if I needed the revelations, I would do it.

well the voice is worth $45 on SCG (Star City Games) and the Sphinx's Rev is $20 each so you would be losing out on straight value. If you really need the SR then make the trade but you should ask for more. Others with better knowledge than me of Standard and Modern might be able to tell you more as the value of one or both could fluctuate if they are getting popular in Modern or even legacy too.

Well, median price for Voice of Resurgence is $40, and median price for Sphinx's Revelation is $19.95 (multiply that by 2 and get $39.90) so I'd say that is quite even in terms of value.

The way things are right now you'll be down about $5 after the trade, but in the long run I think it will turn out either exactly even or in your favor.
If you really need the Revelations and don't need the Voice you should value the former higher and the latter lower anyway, so that still makes it about even right now (at least by how I see these things).
If I were in this situation, I would go for it.

I would do that in a hot second if I needed the revelations. $ value is off a bit in the other guy's favor, but actual value in game play...if say the Revs are far better. Voice will drop anyway...Lthogh, he is a lot harder to deal with once Pillar rotates so we could all be wrong. Go for the Revs, though. Safe bet.

Considering the two main ways I deal with voice are rotating out, unless they're bringing in some nice removal, voice will still be OP.

I don't get why you guys are saying Voice will drop. Even right now, with Pillar of Flame being standard, he's still $45. If anything were to happen, he would increase in price unless Theros reprints Pillar or something similar comes out.

On TCGPlayer, Voice is at 35.12, while Sphinx is at 18.25.
If you can get them for that price, I wouldn't use SSG. They inflate their prices high enough where it will pull the secondary market in that direction.
You're getting the better end of the deal by those prices.

Voice is NOT overpowered. He is great against aggro and amazing against control, but far from OP. theros will have some type of low cost exile removal and people who don't use Voice will stop whining about losing Pillar (honestly, no offense meant to anyone. I speak solely a out my LGS). When Turn / Burn was spoiled people whined less about Thrag and Serenity, so I guess it will go the same with Voice. Bomb is unstoppable, and WotC prints a follow up 2-3 cmc spell that makes it dumb. As for Annihilating Fire , eh. I don't see too many people running a 3 drop removal just to take care of a 2 drop creature. I see more people Shock ing it for 1 than 3. You can deal with the token early.

Having to use Annihilating Fire for removal on Voice of Resurgence is horrible because you're forced to cast an instant on your turn, lest your opponent gets a token anyway and it will easily tap you out early on which either denies you a three drop or prevents you from having open mana to counter a three or four drop from your opponent on their turn. Ruling out things from Innistrad block (there goes Terminus and Pillar of Flame ) and Theros (since we have no idea what's around the corner yet) the only decent way to stop it from being a pain in your ass is killing it with Rest in Peace up. I mean, I guess you could technically Turn / Burn it, but that's 5 cmc, which is three turns off from when it can drop and usually reserved for swagtusk or a hard to remove fatty.

I'd say you'd be better off selling it on Ebay, and buying the Sphinx's.
Easier to get them cheap than the voices.

Well, no one bit. Everyone I talked to on deckbox is not interested in Voice at that price...Oh well. Might just keep it because it was my best pull to date. That or the Foil Blood Crypt. I appreciate the comments though.

money wise you can still ask for another 2$ card beside the 2 SR
