Another Quest for the Holy Relic question

Asked by Dracog 13 years ago

I have Quest for the Holy Relic active with two Kor Skyfisher s down. I activate the quest, he doesn't respond. I search my library, and pull out Argentum Armor attaching it to Skyfisher A lets say. In response to the attatchment he tries to Lightning Bolt the Skyfisher. Can he do that in the middle of Quest for the Holy Relic resolving?

no he has to do it before it resolves bc when it resolves skyfisher is a 8.9

Druck is correct.

If they do not counter the spell itself, they MUST wait until the spell resolves fully (A.K.A. attaching the armor to your skyfisher) before active priority is passed back to your opponent.

They can cast an instant only in response to you playing this(at sorcery speed). They can't just spend a bolt while a spell resolves that they let pass.

@Dracog

as the ruling :

While an ability is resolving neither player receive priority, and also state based checks are not performed. Therefor nobody can respond to that specific ability.

However there are some abilities, that are separated, and those can be responded to. But as a general rule, any ability that is contained in a single phrase it resolve entirely before anyone receives priority.

The problem that people have with QFTHR is that it does not target. you sacrifice it and put the ability on the stack, and then if you have more than one creature your opponent has to choose which one(s) to kill. If they can kill all of them, you get stuck with an Argentum Armor on the battlefield. If they don't and let you resolve the ability, they don't get priority (and neither do you) until the ability has finished resolving and the creature is equipped.
