Are tokens permanents?

I am thinking in terms of Warp World. _

Yes they are. This is actually the usual strategy for Warp World decks, making a ton of otherwise worthless tokens to sac for the Warp.

One thing to remember is that because they're tokens, they cease to exist next time state-based actions are checked if they're found anywhere but the battlefield. So if you cast Warp World with a bunch of tokens out, the tokens will shufffle back into your library with everything else, and then they'll disappear from it. You won't ever actually draw a token or anything.

anything that is on the battlefield is a permanent. tokens are not cards. tokens do not go to the graveyard (though they do trigger abilities of cards that look for creatures going to the graveyard) and they do not shuffle back into the library or go into your hand.

Actually, yes, they do both of those things. Going to the graveyard or being shuffled into the library are results of actions or part of the resolution of a spell, and state-based actions don't check in the middle of the spell resolving. They'll go to the graveyard or get shuffled in, and THEN the state-based actions are checked and they disappear. But they DO exist in those places, if only for an instant.
