Yes, Someone who has memorized the rules will give you a detail explanation.

But, you can respond to the First strike damage that has been dealt, before the regular damage has been dealt.

no. BrownDog is right. It is all just a part of the Assign Damage step. First strike damage is dealt, then creatures are checked for lethal damage, then normal damage is dealt, and creatures are once again checked for lethal damage.

Actually, that's incorrect as per 510.5. If a creature has first strike or double strike, as the combat damage step begins, only creatures with first strike/double strike deal damage, and then at the end of this combat damage step (after damage is dealt, etc) each player gets priority in APNAP order, and then there is a second combat damage step for normal damage, at the end of which each player again gets priority.

on the duals of the planeswalker game you can't play any instants or abilities between first strike damage and combat damage. as ths game is made by wizzards I'll take it's example as authority on the matter and say no you can't.

So, I was right? Yay me, I knew the people claiming that I was wrong were themselves wrong.

An example of why this is important is: Warren Instigator , his ability triggers when he deals damage, which means it must trigger between first strike damage and regular damage. So, you can deal first strike damage with him and then play a Goblin Chieftain off of his ability and then Instigator hits for 2 regular damage.

@popeyroach: wherever that came from, it's wrong.

duals of the planeswalkers is made, developed and maintained by wizards of the coast. I can't see them making a MTG game that voilates their own rules. however I will ask the judge at the besiged pre-release for clarity.

you mean /duels/ of the planeswalkers? the video game? like I said, it's wrong. I would wager any amount of money I possess on that fact.

what's with the //? but yes the video game. I have no doubt that you are convinced, but I'm still going to wait for a judges ruling on the matter. I'm nowhere near certain I'm right but I also have no reason to take your word on the matter.

duals =! duels

If you bothered to read the particular section of the comp rules I cited earlier (510.5), then you would have already had your confirmation.
