Can I play land before i draw?

Asked by Kalani 14 years ago

As in, if i have oracle of mul-daya out and the top card of my library is a land, could i put it into play before i draw, thereby digging one card deeper with the oracle?

From the Oracle rulings on the card:

"Oracle of Mul Daya doesn't change the times when you can play a land card from the top of your library. You can play a land only during your main phase when you have priority and the stack is empty. Doing so counts as one of your land plays for the turn (either your normal one, the additional one Oracle of Mul Daya grants you, or an additional one from some other effect)."

So, no, you can't. Which makes sense; it's not changing the nature of playing the land card, it's simply changing the set of available cards from which you can choose the land card to play (from "your hand" to "your hand + top of library").
