Can someone explain the card odds to me?

Can Someone explain the card odds to me? At first, I thought it was percentages, but then 1.04 simply can't be possible as you would get a card 104% of the time. Mathematically not possible, and thus I realized I have no idea what those numbers actually mean. ;-p

I would guess that the numbers are the average amounts of each card you will have in your hand on a given turn.

i think it is the average pick of the card is 100 people look at the same bosterpack everyone would pick a deferent card based on what other cards are in the set or what kind of deck they are making, or if its just a rare card...

The card odds then have nothing to do with how often you'll draw a card in your deck? That's what I thought it was for.....oh well.

@iamMark

I think you're talking about the average pick for drafts. I am fairly certain the question was about the card odds section for user decks.

@capwner why are two of the cards listed in my deck at over 100% turn 1? That would be mathematically impossible if they were the percentage of time you would draw that card on that turn.

Take one of my decks, for example. On turn 1, it shows a number of 3.53 for forest. This means that, on average, I will draw a hand with about 3 forests in it.

This is only my best guess as to how the card odds system works. You would have to get an answer from a staff member or somebody more familiar with the site to be certain.

It seems to me that capwner is correct in the matter. It takes 100 games worth of 20 turn draws and compiles the data recieved, then it averages the number of times each card is drawn an on which turn.

So, if it says 1.04 it means you more likely than not will draw the card that turn (or 100 games have shown this to be true anyway). So while not exact, becasue thousands of possible variables can factor in, it is pretty darn close. Also have to factor in the way you shuffle, and how the opponent will cut to determine groupings of cards. These are optimal odds, which give a good example of how common it would be to come across certain cards, and car pairings.

Awesome. Thank you guys for the info. This has been incredibly helpful for me in understanding how to use this tool to improve my decks. Thanks to all.
