Can Ulalek copy it's own ability?
Asked by Bravet 8 months ago
So I was looking at Ulalek, Fused Atrocity's ability and noticed the "copy all other activated and triggered abilities" part of it. When it says "other" does that mean other instances of the ability? So I can copy other instances of the ability further down the stack if I cast 2 Eldrazi spells? Or does it mean other abilities that are not this block of text? So there is no way for Ulalek to copy it's own ability.
wallisface Yep yep, I put a bunch of flash support (Liberator, Urza's Battlethopter, Leyline of Anticipation, etc) in the deck for that reason

As far as I m aware that clause was put there because a lot of Eldrazi have cast triggers which won t trigger when you copy it. But the second part of teh text is a failsafe so also those cast triggers will be copied.

From how I read this you will be able to cast an eldrazi spell, and then before Ulaleks triggered ability resolves, cast another Eldrazi spell and use this second Ulalek trigger to copy the first.
However, do note that as the overwhelming majority of Eldrazi spells are sorcery-speed, this interaction is likely to happen extremely infrequently.
