no u couldnt fetch Crypt of Agadeem because marsh flats says search for a plains or swamp but u could use Verdant Catacombs or Misty Rainforest to fetch Murmuring Bosk because it is a non basic land but it is stil a forest

keithroule's correct.

This is one of those times where the specific wordings have a very significant effect.

Normal, ordinary basic lands always say "Basic Land - Plains," or "Basic Land - Island," etc.

There are nonbasic lands with basic land types. Sacred Foundry , for instance, is a "Land - Plains Mountain", and as keithroule mentioned, Murmuring Bosk is a "Land - Forest".

Then there's lands like the vast majority of nonbasic lands, which are simply "Land". They don't have a basic land type, they're just land.

Here's where the difference is important:

Some cards, like Cultivate , tell you to search for basic lands. They can only lands that explicitly say they're basic land. Forest is a valid target, Sacred Foundry is not, even though it has basic land types.

Some cards, like fetchlands (Bloodstained Mire , Scalding Tarn , etc) tell you to search for a specific basic land type - BUT they don't say "basic land" explicitly. So a Swamp is a valid target, Madblind Mountain and Hallowed Fountain are valid targets, but Kabira Crossroads is not.

And lastly, a veeery few cards simply tell you to look for a land - Expedition Map is the most recent I can think of quickly. It can, of course, get anything.

Examples in standard of what you're asking for would be... Expedition Map , Primeval Titan , Realms Uncharted , and I believe that's all. I thought Knight of the Reliquary , but that was shards.
