Do Aura's and Equipment stay on the land?
Asked by TowerOfBad 13 years ago
I have Inkmoth Nexus on the field. I pay (1) to turn it into a 1/1 creature.
Then I equip Darksteel Plate onto it, and cast Rancor on it.
1st, do both of these stay on the land as it turns back into a land?
If they do, since it is no longer a creature, is it destructible?

Auras and Equipment continually check to see if the permanent they're attached to is still legal; if it becomes illegal for any reason they immediately unattach themselves as a state-based action, Auras go straight to the graveyard while Equipment just simply pops off.
One neat way you can abuse this is to play Heavy Arbalest with Inkmoth Nexus or Glint Hawk Idol . You can turn them into creatures, and at the end of the turn they'll revert back into whatever they were, conveniently popping the Arbalest off so you can do it again next turn.

No, equipment and Aura's do not stay on Inkmoth... But (here's where I add something extra)
If you find a way to give Inkmoth +1/+1 counters while it is a creature, they DO remain on the permanent that Inkmoth becomes when it reverts back into a land, effectively boosting it's power and toughness each time you make it a creature.

No, when Inkmoth Nexus turns back into a pumpkin, all equipment and creature auras fall off.
