do equipments become ''tapped'' if the creature they are attached to attacks

Relic Putrescence is the reason I ask.

If you enchanted Bonesplitter , will the controller get a poison when they attack with the creature Bonesplitter is attached to?

No equipments do not tap, when the equipped creatures swings. Although, if you had Vedalken Certarch his ability would be able to tap the equipment causing Relic Putrescence to trigger.
