Do sliver abilities work as keywords when interacting with other cards?
Asked by ArmchairRuler 4 months ago
I am trying to spice up a sliver deck with some off type creatures that interact with having multiple keywords in play. I wanted to include Akroma, Vision of Ixidor and Majestic Myriarch to capitilize on the different abilities that slivers can bring. If I had Akroma and Majestic Myriarch on the battlefield with Cloudshredder Sliver and Lancer Sliver, would Akroma give any additional +1/+1 counters and would Majestic Myriarch get any bonus abilities from the slivers?

Side note to ease your understanding while not directly answering the question:
This differs from the answer to your previous question because your previous question involved a card in exile granting abilities to cards in exile. Unless otherwise stated abilities only function on the battlefield. Additionally if something is referred to by a type it is a permanent on the battlefield, so cards in exile are not "sliver creatures".

Thanks for the clarification, the information is much appreciated. I miss spoke with the counters part of the question. I assume that the Majestic Myriarch would also benefit from the slivers in this scenario then.

Correct, both Akroma, Vision of Ixidor and Majestic Myriarch will see the Slivers as having the abilities granted to them.

Akroma, Vision of Ixidor doesn't give counters, it gives a static buff until EoT. There are some things that interact with counters, so it is an important distinction to make. But yes, if something (such as a Sliver) is granting an ability to Sliver creatures, then Slivers creatures on the battlefield have those abilities.
