Do you gain life when you block with a creature with lifelink?

So let's say I block with Rhox War Monk, do I gain 3 life?

Rhox War Monk for reference.

Lifelink reads whenever this creature deals damage, you gain that much life. If for some reason it does not deal damage in the block, you gain no life. If it does damage, you gain life. If it blocked a creature and the opponent casted Fog for instance, no, you gain no life, but if your War monk dealt damage, you gain life.

Yes, as long Rhox War Monk deals damage to the attacking creature.

For example, if you are attacked by a creature with first strike and it's power is 4 or greater and you block with Rhox War Monk , then Rhox War Monk goes to the graveyard before it deals damage.

702.13b Damage dealt by a source with lifelink causes that sources controller, or its owner if it has no controller, to gain that much life (in addition to any other results that damage causes).
