Does Everlasting Torment turn infect into wither?

Wondering about the ruling of the card Everlasting Torment . It states : ALL DAMAGE is dealt as though ITS SOURCE HAD WHITHER. (A source with wither deals damage to creatures in the form of -1/-1 counters.) while this cards ability is in play making all damage whither because it specifically says what I put in caps above does it negate infect? Infect (This creature deals damage to creatures in the form of -1/-1 counters and to players in the form of poison counters.)
it wouldn't negate infect, since infect is wither, but with poison added to it (for players)
Everlasting Torment says "a source with wither deals damage to CREATURES in the form of...." That's how damage to creatures would work out, and since players obviously can't have -1/-1 counters placed on them, then damage would go on normally.

I'm fairly certain there's a way to get a -1/-1 counter on a player. I just don't know what it is (getting -1/-1 counters on players being considerably harder than getting them on noncreature permanents). Regardless, the answer still stands. Everlasting Torment might be a good card for an anti-infect deck, but in the infect deck you're just shooting yourself in the foot.

one way to get a -1/-1 counter on a player, is you take post it notes, and write in big bold letters on each "PLAYER HAS -1/-1 COUNTER" and you stick it to them.
voila, they are withered
