Does Forked Bolt damage a player twice?
Asked by leon_raymond 14 years ago
if i use Forked Bolt to deal all its damage to a player, will card:Chandra's Spitfire get +6/+0?
Hang on, leon are you asking about directing Fork entirely at one player or at two different players? If it's two, Eyehate is correct, but if you're only hitting one, there is only one instance of non-combat damage so Spitfire would only get one bonus.

Forked Bolt with both damage at a single target (either creature or player) only damages the target once. Same deal as Electrolyze .

603.2c An ability triggers only once each time its trigger event occurs. However, it can trigger repeatedly if one event contains multiple occurrences. See also rule 509.4.

I play with that combo IRL and online. If you target only the player The splitfire only gets +3/0.

The short answer is yes.
Basically forked bolt makes you choose two different targets and if both of your choices are opponents then Chandra will trigger from both opponents being damaged and get +6/+0.
