Does Glimmerpost activate its own life gain ability?

ETB triggers resolve after hitting the battlefield, so yes, Glimmerpost does count itself.

To expand on this a little further, cards like Bounteous Kirin do not count themselves. The reason is because the cast is the trigger, and not entering the battlefield. The Bounteous Kirin would have already resolved from casting it to get it in play before it could check to see if you had cast anything. That's different from Glimmerpost because its entered the battlefield and then the trigger goes off.

and includes any opponents locus too. ALL locus on the battlefield
