Does Rite of Consumption copy counters?

For example I have a Scute Mob out with four +1/+1 counters on it and I play a Rite of Consumption. It would copy the ability but would the copy start with the four +1/+1 counters?

nothing is copied...the Mob has a power of 5, so you gain 5 and they lose 5.

Ahh... I was confused too. A better wording would be:

Does Rise of Consumption consider counters?

haha well then. no, it only copies the printed text, not counters or auras or so forth.
