Does Split second stack?
Asked by dude1818 14 years ago
If one player plays a card with split second, could someone play another card with split second before the first resolves?

Yep. If you ever see old cards with the type "Interrupt," that basically meant that they were like what you describe- you could only respond to an interrupt with another interrupt- they were "faster" than instants. But Split Second is absolute- ONE SS spell on the stack, and you can't do anything.

I think KrazyCaley's "Yep." translates to "I agree" as in he is confirming I'm right.

Yes, Zylo is right. I was just making an historical point about interrupts.

No. In order for split second to work, the spell with split second does not needs to resolve, it just has to be on the stack.
For example:
I play card:Angel's Grace.
You try to play sudden-strike in response.
What you've done is illegal because as long as card:Angel's Grace is on the stack you can not play ANYTHING until it resolves.
