Double strike

on a double strike attack if a lay a goblin guide down with two lands on the field then i put an assault strobe on that goblin. then the opponent blocks with a 2/2 creature card with no abilities, does the blocking creature get destroyed, then attack for another 2?

No. unless you have double strike AND trample.

If your creature had trample you would deal the rest of the unblocked damage to the player/plainswalker
