how does deathtouch work against planeswalkers?

my friend is unsure of the rulings on planeswalkers and i don't know how deathtouch would affect them.

thats what i thought sence a planeswalker is considered a player it wouldn't work because an accual playest doesn't lose the game. However on a side note if u play a card that makes a player lose the game and it targets a planeswalker instead does it die cause technically its a player too.

also if a planeswalker is hit with infect it doesn't lose a loalty counter it just has a poison counter on it instead.

...mkay. Planeswalkers are permanents, not players. They have some funny rules around them, mostly to do with them being damaged, which is similar to the rules for players, but they are not considered to be other players in the game. A card that says "target player" has to target an actual player (although why you would make a planeswalker lose the game and not the player controlling it is beyond me). And the Infect reminder text states the damage is dealt as poison or -1/-1 counters when it damages a PLAYER or CREATURE, respectively. Planeswalkers have neither of these types printed on them, so they are dealt damage normally. Plague Stinger removes 1 loyalty counter from a planeswalker, Ichor Rats does not put poison counters onto planeswalkers.

Simply, it doesn't. A creature with deathtouch will destroy any CREATURE it deals damage to. Planeswalkers are not creatures, so they take damage like they normally do, i.e. a Deadly Recluse will still only remove 1 counter from a planeswalker if it damages it.
This is similar to a creature with infect dealing damage to a planeswalker. Planeswalkers are not classed as either creatures or players, so the damage from an infect creature is dealt normally.
