How does Norns seedcore work?

Asked by Bookrook 3 months ago

I was looking through some planechase cards and I saw Norn's Seedcore. I get that the gist of it is that you have multiple planes active at the same time, but how does it work exactly? Also, what happens if I roll plansewalk? Do I walk away from just the seedcore?

How it works exactly is that the new plane is taken from the top of the planar deck and put face-up in the command zone (this is the normal zone where plane cards live), along with any others that have been put there by Norn's Seedcore, and any "when you planeswalk [here]" triggered abilities of that plane will trigger. All of the static abilities of the planes brought out by Norn's Seedcore will be active together, and all of their chaos abilities will trigger simultaneously whenever chaos ensues (the active player will decide what order to put the triggers onto the stack). When you finally planeswalk away, you will walk away from all of the active planes, so they will all go back to the bottom of the planar deck (the active player will choose the order).

I believe the planes' owner choses the order of the planes they put on the bottom of their planar deck. In a game using a shared planar deck though, the planar controller (typically the active player) is considered the owner of all the planes, so they will decide the order as Rhadamanthus stated. Note that when playing with each player using their own planar decks, Norn's Seedcore can result in multiple planes owned by multiple players all being active at the same time, as chaos can ensue during any player's turn.
