How does protection and shroud work?

I'm sure this has been asked before so I'm sorry ahead of time.

For example say I have.. Black Knight

Someone plays Wrath of God ; does my Black Knight die?

Also say.. I have a creature with shroud and someone uses like Pestilence Demon would it kill my creature with shroud?

both creatures would die, they r gloal effects, but say someone activates the pestilence demon with a white knight on the field, thn the white knight would be unaffected bc of the protection from black

Protection covers 4 things: Damage, Enchanting, Targeting and Blocking. Anything outside of these categories (like a spell which destroys without targeting or doing damage Day of Judgment ) will affect a creature which would otherwise be protected from that colour/card type.
