How exactly does Mitotic Manipulation work?

Asked by CrossfireNate 13 years ago

Does it mean same name as a permanent on the field? I don't really understand. Would it be good for a Scry deck?

Mitotic Manipulation

It'd go okay with Scry, since you can filter away any cards on top of your library that you don't want. The process goes like this:

1) Look at the top 7 cards of your library, paying special attention to their names.

2) Look at the names of all the cards on the battlefield.

3) If any of the cards you're looking at from your library have the same name as something on the battlefield, put one of the revealed cards on to the battlefield.

4) Anything from your library that didn't go on to the battlefield, put on the bottom of your library.

It's a win more card, but in a mirror where your opponent just landed a frost titan, it could give a possible chance to get yours into play, and for 3 mana, thats much cooler than summoning trap antics. Espicially if your not playing green :)

I wouldn't diss it just yet.

I dunno, seems more like a Johnny card, similar to Thrumming Stone but slightly less powerful

yeah i had ideas of making a green-blue deck with Genesis Wave , Summoning Trap and Mitotic Manipulation in it.

cast Summoning Trap at the end of you opponents turn, get something like a Primeval Titan then during your turn play Mitotic Manipulation

hell, you could throw in red and make a new variation of a Valakut, the Molten Pinnacle deck, seeing as you can use Mitotic Manipulation to put a land you need onto the field or something.

its one of those cards that is good, but its not easily splashable in any other deck other than what its supposed to be doing.
