If i equip Reassembling Skeleton with Skullclamp can i sacrifice it or is it just put into the graveyard?

When equipped with the Skullclamp , reassembling-skeletons becomes a 2/0 creature, can you then sacrifice it, or does it just go to the graveyard and not count as a sacrifice? i.e. would equipping a reassembling-skeletons with a Skullclamp still allow me to put a counter on Mortician Beetle ?

It just goes to the graveyard as a state-based action because its toughness is zero or less. I'm afraid you don't get to do anything with him, like sac him, in response because once the equip resolves state-based actions are checked and performed before you get priority again.
If you try to equip him, then sac him to something in response, it still won't work because he'll be sacrificed before the equip ability resolves so you won't get the two cards for your troubles.
Also: every time I look at the Clamp I wonder what possessed the design team to think that card was ANYTHING but completely busted. =p

Although it works very nicely. 3 mana, 2 cards, no drawback

No question there, it works GREAT for what it's trying to do.
Which is be broken as the dickens.

apparently the drawback was supposed to be the -1 toughness. Who could have known how broken that would quickly become?
