If I have a Sunhome Enforcer and I give it Lifelink, do I gain double life?

If I have a Sunhome Enforcer and I give it Lifelink, do I gain double life? Or is there a rules update that states that it is the same effect. There are tons of old cards with the old wording but this was the 1st one I came accross searching.

Kjeldoran Gargoyle might be a better example of this.

I believe for Sunhome Enforcer you would gain double life because it says you only gain life by doing combat damage and that isn't what Lifelink does. so you gain life from Sunhome Enforcer and Lifelink .

if you gave sunhome enforcer lifelink you would gain double life.

however if you gave the gargoyle a second instance of lifelink you would still gain the normal amount of because lifelink is a static ability not a triggered

Xera's right.

In M10, they errata'ed all instances of the actual keyword "lifelink" to act as it's dealing damage, not creating a trigger.

They left all instances of "Whenever ~ deals [combat] damage, gain that much life" as a triggered ability.

Fun Fact: So, while you do effectively gain double the life, you gain it at two separate times. If you needed the lifegain from the triggered ability printed on the card to survive an attack, you wouldn't get it in time.
