If I have a Vigor and a Protean Hydra out which damage prevention effect triggers first?

If i have both Vigor and Protean Hydra on the table and i'm blocking something, which of my two creatures' prevention effects trigger first, and does one override the other completely (i.e. - would vigor's prevention triggering negate the hydra's growth effect?)?

Since they'd trigger at the same time, and trigger to do essentially the same thing (prevent damage), I believe you get to choose which one goes on the stack first, so you could either prevent it with Vigor or with your Protean Hydra . So you wouldn't get both, but you get to choose which to implement.
I'm not sure, though.

Snugglepuff's correct. Both triggered abilities activate from the same event in this case, and so you get to choose the order they resolve.
Then when whichever you choose to resolve first does so, the other doesn't get to - or, technically speaking it does, it just doesn't have any damage to prevent anymore so it doesn't do anything.
This is the same reason that you can't have two Vigor s out on the field and hope to see two +1/+1 counters on your creature for each damage.

Yes it does prevent Protean's effect because Proteans ability says "If damage would be dealt" Because of Vigors effect it prevents that damage so it wouldn't be dealt.
