If I have Precursor Golem on the field and my opponent Doom Blades a golem will all golems be killed or just the one being targeted?

Asked by Scotty4u 14 years ago

This came up in a game my friend and I were having. In Precursor Golem 's text it states

'Whenever a player casts an instant or sorcery spell that targets only a single Golem, that player copies that spell for each other Golem that spell could target. Each copy targets a different one of those Golems'

When it says 'golem', does that mean any creature with a subtype golem?

For example

Precursor Golem , two 3/3 Golem tokens, and Rusted Relic are currently on the field.

Opponent plays Doom Blade on Rusted Relic .

*Here is where the question kicks in

Would you make a copy for each Golem on the field? Therefore wiping out the entire field. or would Rusted Relic would just be destroyed

All Golems would be destroyed. It's similar to something like Merrow Commerce or card:Dralnu's Crusade in terms of the language, when they just use the subtype in the rules text, they mean permanents of that type

Conspiracy naming Golem + Precursor Golem + Unmake = bye bye, everything.

Just fyi, conspiracy only affects your own goods. so if wiping your own board is what you intended :P
