If i remove a counter from triskelion using power conduit, does triskelion still deal it's damage?
Asked by trgoose 13 years ago
So power conduit allows me to remove a +1/+1 counter from one target to another, does this mean that if i use it on triskelion (which reads: remove a +1/+1 counter, deal 1 damage to a target) that the counter is moved and the damage is done?

It's a matter of why you're removing the counter.
In both cases, removing a counter is part of the cost for activation. All costs have to be paid in full before an ability is put on the stack, and and that can't be responded to. So you only get to use a resource for one cost.
Now, if Triskelion's ability read "Whenever a +1/+1 counter is removed from Triskelion, it deals 1 damage..." it would work. But that's because it's a triggered ability based off a counter being removed, rather than an activated ability whose cost involves removing one.

Power Conduit
the answer is no.
this is because the removal of a +1/+1 counter is linked to two different abilities. so when you remove a +1/+1 counter for one ability you can not use both abilities just because both of their costs were met.
hope this helps
