If I sacrifice Arcbound Worker to Throne of Geth is the +1/+1 counter put on before or after I proliferate?

Let's say I have a Palladium Myr , an Arcbound Worker and a Throne of Geth . If I sac the worker to the throne, does the +1/+1 counter move to my Myr before or after I proliferate?

When Arcbound Worker is sacrifices with Throne of Geth it hits the graveyard before the Proliferation effect goes off because its modular ability goes on the stack before the proliferate. Therefore, your Palladium Myr gets the +1/+1 counters from Arcbound Worker s modular ability and an addition +1/+1 counter from Throne of Geth 's proliferate ability, leaving you with at least a 4/4 Palladium Myr

You announce that you are activating Throne of Geth 's ability. Then, Throne of Geth 's ability (proliferate) goes on the stack. Then, you pay the cost to activate the ability. You sacrifice Arcbound Worker . As you sacrifice him, he hits the graveyard and his ability (modular 1) triggers instantaneously (it does not use the stack). You then place the +1/+1 counter on the Palladium Myr . Then, the stack resolves and you proliferate, adding another +1/+1 counter to the Palladium Myr .

Triggered abilities definitely use the stack, even if they're triggered as part of paying costs for spells and abilities.

You CAN respond to moving the +1/+1 counter onto another artifact creature. (By, say, shocking the Palladium Myr)

Actually, the second ability of modular uses the stack. When you announce Throne of Geth's ability, it then moves to the stack. The last part of casting a spell or activating an ability is to pay the costs. When you sacrifice Arcbound Worker, the modular ability is put on the stack above Throne of Geth. The modular ability will resolve first and Throne of Geth will resolve after that.
